Now, in the ultimate battle for awesomeness between kittens and pups, I say pups always win hands down. It’s like comparing the prowess of 10,000 stegosauruses vs. that of 20,000 (for those not in the know, I also like dinosaurs a heck of a lot and imagine them to be very cuddly despite their scaly, leathery-looking skin); both are cool but one party is clearly more so. Despite my clear partisanship, here are clips of two of my favorite Internet cats which you’re also sure to enjoy.
Exhibit A is a video of Winston the smoosh-faced Persian beauty getting ready for Halloween, circa 2007. His owner was going for Jabba the Hutt turned Dune sandworm turned belly dancer. This next little Japanese chap named Maru likes diving rather athletically into diet drink boxes. The splayed-leg action at the end of each slide is pretty boss. He/she even does it double-time at the end and acquires himself a little box vest. Link via today’s Gothamist.
Apparently cats-in-boxes is so commonplace, it’s becoming its very own Internet genre. Are these kitties all Maru?
UPDATE: More Maru everywhere! I didn’t realize this guy was such a celebrity in Japan.
