So I was browsing greedily through this treasure trove of recipes on Orangette, when the chocolate-malted cupcakes caught my eye. While they aren’t exactly beauties–I haven’t made cupcakes from scratch since my sixth grade cooking class, and didn’t have any measuring utensils except the oz/cup markings on my blender–they truly are a gastronomical delight. The homemade frosting was basically a delectable cocoa butter spread. The ingredients themselves set me back about a million dollars, but now I have enough leftover baking supplies to last me a year. Hmm, I’d have to work on the presentation (no more soccer ball liners!), but a cupcake delivery service in the East Village perhaps?

And the aftermath–So buttery! So sugary!
